I love Digi Challenge 8 - For My Dad

Here's my entry into the I love Digi challenge.  Unfortunately my dad passed away some years ago but he was a very keen golfer, in fact, I'd say it was a passion of his.  He's passed it on to me too!!!  Anyway, this card would have been perfect for him.  Love him and miss him every day xx

Having fun

It's my step grandson's 3rd birthday in April so I'm having fun doing his card and thought I'd share it with you.  It's so much fun when you know the person you're making the card for - and somehow they always come out much better, I guess it's made with lots of love ;-)

Fab weekend

What a fantastic weekend - we had glorious sunshine practically all weekend and the girls had a blast.  Saturday was all outside - zip lines, climbing walls, assault courses and low ropes.  Naturally I held the handbags and cameras and generally watched - I'm getting very aware of my own mortality so don't do those rides, although it looked great fun.
Sunday was craft day - the girls did cookie making, decorating gingerbread men and card making (a la me!).  I had a great time.  There are some very "craftie" girls in the company.  They really enjoyed it too.  The tables were a complete mess with papers and gems and ribbons etc but that never matters ;-)

Mad day yesterday

I had a mad day yesterday - got a complete panic that I'm doing a craft slot with the Girls Brigade this weekend and I've nothing prepared for them - there's 30 girls aged from 9 to 14!  Arrggghhh!

So, got up really early and began preparing 4 cards and kits - 2 St Patrick's Day cards and 2 Mother's day cards.  Here's the choices....

Mother's day #1    Papers are K&Company from some Cardstock pads I have (or had, 30 kits has kinda decimated that stash!)

I love the colours of these papers, but maybe the circles should be flowers - I'll give the girls that choice as I haven't cut them out for them.
Mothers day #2Papers are DCWV Retro Prints stack, wording paper I made up on the computer
Gems from stash.

For the kits I've used similar colour scheme but with different papers and I've matched the wording and label colours to the relevant papers.
St Patricks Day # 1You've seen this one before but I just love it.  Should be straight forward for them to do.
St Patricks day #2
Papers are from Lucky Lucky You - a free download from Holly Brooke Jones from 2 Peas in a Pod.
Embossed paper is Doodlebug
Fiskers treading water punch

Wonder how they'll get on with these, will update you on Monday and let you know.

Gorgeous day today

I am looking out my window at the most gorgeous day, sun is splitting the stones, although it is still quite cold. I'm hoping to go golfing this afternoon - that'll be my third time this year (that's no way to keep my handicap!).  I'm having a putting lesson tomorrow afternoon, of course that means I'll put brilliantly today - go figure!

Its our Lady Captain's drive in today so here's a few cards I made for her, not
sure which one will be from me.  It won't be the one with the lady cos one of my neighbours has taken that!

Sorry the photos are so dark - not sure why that is, will have to do some experimenting with the camera

Toothache, ow!

Not feeling the best today - have a minor toothache, its funny how there are some pains that just really knock you for six.  For me, its toothache and a certain kind of headache!  I'll just have to struggle on.

Spent the day yesterday sorting out all my kits for the Girls Brigade away weekend next weekend, I have a craft slot with them and am doing either a St Patricks day card or a Mothers day card - they can do one of each.  Having fun making sure I have all the kit ready and some extras if they want to be a little creative.

Fairies and playing about

I got the MME Pretty Please papers and have been playing about with some cards.  What do you think of these?

The stamps came with Papercraft Inspirations magazine some months ago and have been sitting in my drawer waiting for me to do something with them.
The lettering I bought as a job lot with some other stuff

I Love Digi Challenge #1

This is the first time I've entered a challenge - would love to get some feedback from anyone out there.

Grey and foggy

Can't believe there's been such a change in the weather.  On Sunday I was out planting some new plants in the garden in lovely sunshine, yes it was cold but it was a lovely fresh day.  Then yesterday we had snow and today is grey and foggy.  Its funny how the weather effects my mood, could do with having a duvet day today but that won't happen!  Maybe I'll get to make cards later.

Wedding

I'm so excited, my step daughter and her partner have asked me to do their wedding invitations (well, really I guess I asked them if they wanted me to do them).  We did a draft on Friday and we were both in tears at the result - I'm guessing she liked it!!!  I've ordered all the supplies, so can't wait for them to arrive - I'm not going to post a full picture until she's sent them out but here's a sneak peek.

Those keen eyed people out there will spot that its not a W but an upside down M - so here's the deal, I only had one sheet of the lettering and all the W's had been used.  As I said its a draft so I improvised!!!  When the full cards have been done I'll post a picture with the correct letter.  (Yes, I am a pedantic Pat!)

Bet you didn't expect to hear from me so quickly!!!  Well, just thought I'd share this one with you - I'm really pleased with it.  I've been hunting around for the MME Wild Asparagus papers and finally found them on Thursday and this is the first card I've done with it.  The image is from Craftwork Cards, coloured with Cosmic Shimmer watercolour paints.

Which to choose....

OK, so I'm a bit slow in getting into this whole blog thing! Seems to me that there are so many things to be part of - gmail, Facebook, Twitter, blogging - how does anyone have time for anything anymore!

Anyway, that's my bit of a rant about technology (imagine, and I work in the technology industry!!!).

So here's my promise - I'm going to update my blog regularly, at least 3 times a week. It'll have a little bit of all the things in my life - cards, work, golf etc.

My current dilemma is..... at the beginning of March I'm going away with 10 or so girls (all part of the Girls Brigade) and I've to do a craft slot with them over the weekend, so I'm busily trying to work out cards that they'd both want to make and be able to make. Given that Mother's Day and St Patrick's Day will be shortly after the weekend I've picked those as a theme. What do you think of these as ideas for starters.....

I love the Paddy's day one but not so sure about the Mother's day cards - anyone with any suggestions???

The first Mothers day card was inspired by Kath at
http://kath-allthatglitter.blogspot.com/ - I check out her blog as often as I can and get great ideas there and a smile!
